Version history
Version 2.2.239 (06/07/2008)
New functions and features
- Instead of a drive letter (e.g. C:) you may now use a volume label for drive identification. There are three advantages compared to using a drive letter:
- Sometimes drive letters change without notice. If, for example, you want to make a back up to a removable disk and you didn't remove a USB stick before attaching the drive, the drive gets another drive letter as if you had removed the USB stick before. In this case using the volume label gives you more freedom than using a drive letter.
- Drive letters may have different values on different computers. If you use a volume label you can apply a profile universally.
- If you use several removable disks or memory cards with different volume labels, there is no danger of mix-ups.
- The help is now online, too. This makes it possible to keep the help content always up to date.
- There is now a tree view for folders and files available.
- A new search function has been added.
- ECSync! can now to connect to a folder on a remote computer with username and password. These data are stored encrypted in the corresponding profile.
- ECSync! can now synchronize another user's folders and files even if a username and password are needed.
- Windows Vista support improved.
Version 2.1.229 (04/10/2007)
Error corrections
- There was an error that made it impossible to disable the startup info and the initial launch of the assistant.
Version 2.1.228 (03/14/2007)
New functions and features

- You can now create shortcuts to profiles that run with another user context (e.g. to run ECSync! as administrator while one is logged in as user with reduced rights).
- In previous versions only the example files could be restored. Now the example profile is restored, too.
- The help's assistant was completed.
Error corrections
- The problem Error 1904. Module simpleui5.ocx failed to register is now avoided by using another control for the toolbar.
- In some cases a file in the list of files to delete in the profile settings was not deleted.
- Creating a new task for the task scheduler resulted in an error if no description was entered.
Version 2.0.208 (03/15/2006)
Error corrections

- Folders with names that had only a file type (e.g. '.something') were not included in the synchronization.
- Some files were recognized as changed even if only the capitalization of their names differed.

Error corrections

- Clicking a button in the help sometimes executed the corresponding function several times.
Version 2.0.200 (01/06/2006)
Error corrections
- In some cases folders were erroneously recognized as subfolders of another folder (e.g. D:\Part1 Backup\Test was meant to be a subfolder of D:\Part1 if both folders existed).
- In some cases deleted entries still existed after saving a profile.
- The date/time in the 'Changed' column of the file list is now displayed completely (truncation occurs no more).
